The Scholarship Foundation will specifically provide scholarships to college students annually and mentor each student until graduation. Each student will be a part of the mentoring group for the entire time they are enrolled in college. The scholarship will be presented to one student from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) – Newark, NJ and The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) – Ewing, NJ. The mentorship will run during the college academic year. The scholarship will serve as a memorial for Michael Muchioki and Nia Haqq. Michael attended NJIT and Nia graduated from TCNJ.
The purpose of the organization is to provide monetary scholarships to
individuals who possess similar characteristics and goals as Mike and Nia, create community service
initiatives in which the scholarship recipients would participate, and provide a mentorship network to
individuals who are likely to benefit from the same. It is our hope that in the future, the organization
can expand our focus and become a full service community resource.
